Bull Bash is May 3rd
 | | Ulysses' own Wacey Munsell will once again be at the Bull Bash scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd at the Grant County Fairgrounds. |
| The 12th annual Better Than Nothing Bull Bash is set to blow out of the chutes on May 3rd 2008. 3 D Rodeo Productions promises a night of thrills, spills, and chills as some of the nation's best bucking bull breeders bring their stock to Ulysses' Grant County Fairgrounds.
Forty bull riders will be matched up against bulls from the McCloy, Crowthers, and Munsell strings hoping to make the whistle and part of the $7.000.00 payoff. The top ten from the first round of action will be matched against the top ten bulls in the championship round.
This year's stock contractors have sent bulls to the NFR, the CBR finals and the PBR finals. Mc- Cloy rodeo has raised bulls that you have seen at the PBR and CBR such as Sir Patrick, Texas Jack, Air Up There, McCrazy, Doc Gardner, Malpractice, Legally Blonde to name a few.
Jimmy Crowther's has been raising bucking bulls since the 1970's and you have seen many of his bulls perform at the Better Than Nothing Bull Bash and then appear on TV at the NFR and PBR finals. Bulls such as Bone Collec- tor, Rattler, Merlin, California Dreaming, Shock The Monkey, Red Line, Lil Bit Moody, Mood Swing and many others.
The Munsell family is actually the Southwest Kansas version of Crowther's, with all their cattle possessing the Crowther bloodlines, they will bring to town the likes of Down Town Brown, 7 Up, Lil Abner, and Momma's Boy, along with the fighting stock.
The action does not stop there as some of the nation's top freestyle bullfighters will be on hand for a head to head freestyle bullfighting match. Home grown Wacey Munsell who is the 2005 and 2006 National Champion, 2004 and 2006 World Champion heads the list of bullfighters.
Also scheduled to appear in the bullfight 2005 CO National Champion, 2004 World Champion Sam Gress of Hutchinson. Gress and Munsell worked together to capture the Professional Bullfighter Tours Daisy World Championship Protection Team tile in 2007.
Assisting in helping keep the bull riders safe will be Steve Wangler of Plainview, Nebraska, also a world finalist in the Daisy World Championship Protection tour. Mike Ramsey, PRCA announcer from Stafford KS will call the action.
There will be thrills and chills when the crowd favorite Money the Hard Way returns again this year.
Tickets available at the gate and gates open at 6:00pm, action will start at 7:30 pm. Be sure to buy a souvenir T Shirt. You are sure to have a good time, and all proceeds will benefit the Ulysses FFA scholarship fund.
